Androgenetic Alopecia ‘AGA’ (termed Male Pattern Baldness).

This familiar permanent baldness located within the hat line in males is associated with the conversion of the androgen testosterone into di-hydro testosterone (DHT) by the enzyme 5 alpha reductase.

Female Pattern Baldness

  • Androgen-related hair loss. Permanent hair-loss caused by the action of androgens on genetically susceptible
  • Androgenetic Alopecia is non-reversible genetically determined hair

Androgen presence is necessary for its progression. It is genetically either,

  1. dominant – a single gene isinherited
  2. Polygenic – a number of genes areinherited
